Innovative medical devices and biocompatible materials

The programme is aimed at students with a Bachelor's degree in biomedicine, life sciences, chemistry, or pharmacy. They work on the development of modern medical products and materials, such as stent coatings, cartilage replacements or artificial heart valves.

Structure and content

In the first semester, seminar-style courses are held to deepen knowledge of biomedical topics. The second semester is divided into block courses, for example on biomedical technologies or biochemical pharmacology, as well as a research project in which current biomedical issues are addressed. The master's thesis is written in the third semester.

Admission Requirements

  • Subject-related university entrance qualification (University degree in Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry or a relevant degree programme)
  • University degree with at least 180 ECTS (usually at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent)
  • Degrees from foreign universities must be recognised by the Studienkolleg in Konstanz.
  • A good command of English at level B2, evidenced by the certificates listed in § 2 of the "Statutes on the required language skills for studying at Reutlingen University"
  • A good command of the German language. Proof is provided by means of the evidence listed in § 1 of the "Statutes on the required language skills for studying at Reutlingen University"

Step 2: Register on the application portal of Reutlingen University and apply for your desired degree programme.

After an offer of admission, your applications with lower priority may be eliminated from the process.
